Weapons of Sound is a thriving and successful entertainment act, with a hard working team of professional workshop leaders and polished junk percussionists, skilled and experienced in working with any group size for any occasion (be it a workshop in a school or an onstage interactive performance for thousands of people). Performance highlights to date include Weapons of Sound playing at The Champions League Final in Paris (May 2006), by royal appointment at The Queens Jubilee Party celebration at Buckingham Palace (summer 2002) and kicking off the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Manchester (2002). Also on the CV are product launches and corporate entertainment events that span the globe. From launching The X Box in Cannes to Miller Lager in Shanghai they have also enthralled audiences in Egypt, The Seychelles, Spain, Israel, (to name a few).
Travelling the world over the innovative group dazzle and motivate audiences with their jaw dropping show and inspire people of all ages with their encompassing workshops. WOS are proud of the work that they do spreading the message that anyone of any age or ability can have a go at drumming….. On anything!!
Performances
Be it a lively, stylish show or soothing, ambient background music WOS will compliment your event providing original entertainment with a difference.
- The big show - A great way to open or close an event the high energy set with contemporary music (played fully live on junk instruments) can be tailored to your event. There is the option for the audience to just sit back and watch the spectacle unfold or they can be fully involved with the use of hand held instruments all included in the price.
- The ambient background experience - Why settle for the same old string quartet? While clients are sitting down to dinner or mingling quietly give them something to talk about with a background band that play soothing tunes live on junk instruments. Although blending into the background WOS ambient could be the one thing that stands out from the celebrations.
Workshops
Not satisfied alone with performing WOS are very proud of their much sought after junk drumming workshops. Since 1993 WOS have provided over 2000 workshops to all kinds of different organisations - schools, youth centres, local councils, universities, etc. The workshops are a chance for anyone to get involved and discover their inner musical abilities or just spend an hour hitting a drum as hard as they can!
